Essie – Blue Rhapsody Nail Polish Review

Hi everyone, today I’ll be reviewing Blue Rhapsody by Essie!

This is such a gorgeous colour! This is a metallic blue with a slight silver shimmer. This is one of my many favourites. 😉 You can get this online or in some stores at Superdrug or Boots for £7.99.

Blue Rhapsody has a very thin consistency. But somehow, it works. Although having an ultra thin brush doesn’t help, it is a one coater when applied properly. Now, I’ll admit I really wasn’t expecting this to be a one coater. Purely because most nail artists and nail polish addicts know that Essie is known for it’s thin formulas. There will be a few problems if you’re trying to get this polish to be a one coater on your nails. The first one being the amount of polish on the brush. You need to get the right balance. Too much and it will easily run down the sides of your nails and flood your cuticles, (and we all know what a pain that is.) Too little polish on the brush and the light spots are terrible! You get pink patches through the blue that are incredibly noticeable. Also, streaks are a problem with too little polish on the brush. Sticking to as little brush strokes is the best possible way to get an even coverage. So it does take a bit of practice, but once you’ve got the technique right, it’s a one coat wonder with an amazingly smooth finish.

Here’s my nails with one coat of Essie – Blue Rhapsody.

This is my video swatch!

As you can see from the picture above, once the colour has dried on your nails, it becomes a lot lighter than the colour in the bottle. It has it’s faults, but, I love it.

Thank you so much for reading!
